Music Ministry

WE WORSHIP TOGETHER

As we worship together, we have one goal in mind: to exalt God and lead others in acknowledging that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  Many musicians and vocalists share their God-given gifts in music each week.  If you are looking for a way to get involved in worship ministries, we have a place for you!

Traditional Worship

Each Sunday morning, we have two Traditional Worship services. Our 9 a.m. service includes hymns and worship songs led by the Schweitzer Choir, organ, piano and instrumentalists. Our 8 a.m. Chapel Service is a more intimate service that includes singing from hymnals, weekly communion and message.

ABOUT THE CHOIR
The Schweitzer choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in joining the choir or learning more about our Traditional services, contact Barth Fraker, Director of Traditional Worship.

MODERN WORSHIP

On Sunday at 10:30 a.m., we offer our Modern Worship service. This service is led by a team of musicians, including singers, guitarists, keyboardists, drummers and stringed instrumentalists.

If you're a musician and would like to use your gift of music at Schweitzer with the modern band, don't hesitate to contact Doug King, Director of Modern Worship.

WORSHIP & MUSIC GROUPS

In addition to Sunday mornings, we have musical groups that share their heart for God and music with our community. These groups include Joy Singers, Joy Pickers and our Handbell Choir.

JOY SINGERS

This adult choir prepares music to share throughout our community, primarily in retirement or skilled-care facilities.  Joy Singers is open to anyone who wants to sing. We meet on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. for rehearsal. This group is led by Cheryll Moll.

JOY PICKERS

This group of instrumentalists provides music in retirement communities and for other events. Joy Pickers is open to those who play stringed instruments. The style is bluegrass, gospel and folk music. This group is led by Cheryll Moll.

HANDBELLS

The Handbell Choir at Schweitzer rehearses weekly and shares their musical offerings in traditional worship throughout the year. This group is led by Kim Hammons.

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES

Throughout the year, we offer special opportunities for our church and community to worship together.
Some examples of this include Night of Worship, our Ash Wednesday service, Hymn Sings, and our Christmas Worship Experience.
The 2024 Carols of Christmas will be held Sunday, December 22 at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. All services will be the same as we celebrate the story of Jesus' birth through music and worship.
On a regular basis, we invite the whole church to join in a Night of Worship. Please check back soon for the next date or view our Calendar page for more opportunities.
If you are looking for a way to get involved in the life of the church and use your gifts in music ministry, we have a place for you! Please reach out with any questions.
