Groups & Classes

WE ENGAGE IN FORMATION

We were not designed for isolation, but are meant to find our purpose and be transformed in community. Our spiritual communities at Schweitzer have many expressions, all with the common goal of making disciples who make disciples.

As we engage in the process of becoming a disciple, we Explore conversations about Jesus and Engage in the practices of Jesus. We have many groups and classes that help make this whole process easier, you'll find these listed on this page.

If you have additional questions, reach out to Cory Luczywo, Pastor of Discipleship.

THE DISCIPLESHIP TREE

What does it mean to be a disciple of Christ? How do we know if we’re getting it right?
Discipleship is a life-long process of God leading us toward spiritual flourishing. Our life journey with God provides space for us to Explore, Engage and Empower. We hope you find a place to do these very things here at Schweitzer Church. Being part of a small group or class not only helps you meet people, but it also helps as you navigate the life-long discipleship journey.

GROUP & CLASSES

Below are suggestions for getting started with a group or class.

All Groups

We have groups and classes for all ages that meet on and off campus. Many groups meet on Sunday mornings at 9 or 10:15 a.m. or Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m.

Find group descriptions and meeting times on the Church Center Groups page. Filter available groups by time and day of the week.

Practicing the Way

Practicing the Way is an introduction to spiritual formation, inviting us into a community of practitioners learning to be with Jesus, become like him, and do what he did. We will explore this through teachings, guided conversation and spiritual exercises designed to lay a foundation for lifelong apprenticeship to Jesus.
There are many new groups starting this fall.

Alpha

Alpha is a safe, non-judgmental space where everyone can come explore life's biggest questions together. Each week we'll enjoy free food, listen to a short talk, and discuss life and faith. All perspectives are welcome!

A new group is starting up at Neighbor's Mill this fall, find more details here.

Need Guidance on Next Steps?

Discipleship is Jesus’ invitation for us to cultivate and experience life to the fullest. Everyone has a next step to take. Not sure where to start? Here are a few opportunities to consider within our journey.

 EXPLORE
If you have big questions and want to explore faith, try Alpha and bring all of your questions!

ENGAGE
If you long for a tangible faith that truly makes a difference, Practicing the Way creates space to experience life-changing spiritual practices.

EMPOWER
If you are already growing in your beliefs and faith practices, consider mentoring or stepping out and leading a new class or group. For you, the ground is fertile to be a ministry leader entrepreneur and mentor who can cultivate other healthy disciples.
