Shantistan
Enabling a land of peace

Join us this fall for an 8-week class called Shantistan: Enabling a Land of Peace, led by Drs. Ruth and Stan Burgess. Growing up as missionary children in India they each were shaped by war. With a desire for peace, Ruth and Stan began conceptualizing creative ways to engage in this cultural conversation and developed a curriculum to guide the process.
The Burgesses will highlight 13 personal cross-cultural narratives from the Shantistan peace-building curriculum. The material will revolve around the themes of integrity, harmony, tolerance, devotion to one’s beliefs, love, doing good, civility, human dignity, human kindness, faith and forgiveness, protection of life, sacrifice and reconciliation.
This class will meet October 6 at 5:30 p.m. and continue for 8 weeks.
